Oil bowser catches fire in Mudon Township

No one was injured after an oil bowser hit a lamppost and caught fire in Mudon Township, Mon State, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.

         

The accident occurred between mileposts 24/6 and 24/7 on the Mawlamyine-Thanbyuzayet Road near Nailon-Lettet Village in Mudon Township at about 8:25 a.m. on 29 December. The oil tanker driven by a man identified as Zeyar Aung, 36, crashed into a lamppost and caught fire after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The fire engulfed about 250 gallons of diesel and had ceased around 35 minutes later.

         

In addition the vehicle was badly damaged by the blaze. The driver is being questioned over reckless driving by the local police station.—MOHA
