Old shell discovered in Mohnyin Township

A construction worker unearthed an old shell which are believed to be from Japanese occupation period during WWII, in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State.


The employee discovered an old bomb under the ground at about 4 p.m. on 1 June while digging up the ground with the use of a backhoe in a construction site of a bridge in Narkhataung Ward in Mohnyin.


The old shell has 3 inches in length and around 3 inches in circumference. The device was handed over to a local artillery regiment.—
