One dead, 7 injured after passenger bus crashes into tree in Maubin

One person has died and seven others were hurt after a passenger bus slammed into a tree in Maubin Township, Ayeyawady Region on 28 June, according to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
    

 

The accident occurred between mileposts 5/4 and 5/5 on the Maubin-Twantay Road when an over-speeding passenger bus named “Shwe La Min” driven by a man identified as Naing Oo, 35 years of age hit a tree near Yekyaw Village. The passenger bus driver was pronounced dead at the scene and seven people were injured in the incident. 
    

 

The injured people were transferred to a nearby government hospital in Maubin and a file is opened to investigate into the case by the local police.—MOHA
