One dead, four hurt as six-wheeled overturns in Tedim Township

One person has died and four others were severely injured after a six-wheeled truck overturned in Tedim, one of the townships in Myanmar’s remote Chin State, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.


The fatal accident took place at about 7:30 a.m. on 4 June near Lailoe Village on the Tedim-Hteehtan Road in Tedim Township when a six-wheeled truck loaded with bricks overturned. Local firefighters rushed to the scene of accident and undertook a search and rescue operation. Among the seven people on the truck, the driver identified as Thang Doe Lian was pronounced dead on the spot and six men were hurt in the incident.


Of the injured people, four men are said to be life-threatening situation and were sent to a public hospital in Tedim. A probe has been launched to investigate into the cause of the accident by the local police.
