Thaton, 4 January
A Yangon-bound train hit a three-wheel motorbike near the milepost 133/12 north Naungkalar village, Thaton township, Mon state this morning, leaving one dead and one injured.
The No. 90 Down-train operated by U Aung Myint Swe, which was on its way from Mawlamyine to Yangon, crashed into a three-wheel motorbike driven by Soe Min Thu, of Naungkalar village along with U Than Win onboard the motorcycle near the milepost.
The accident left Soe Min Thu dead and U Than Win injured slightly. The injured was transported to Thaton District General Hospital for treatment.
A formal police case was registered against Soe Min Oo according to law.—Hlaing Tun Aung (Thaton)
