Taungdwingyi, 17 June
A woman was killed in a head-on collision between a six wheel truck and a motorbike in Taungdwingyi Township, Magway Region on Sunday.
The accident took place at milepost 284/8 on the Taungdwingyi-Magway Road near Talokepin Village in Taungdwingyi Township at about 5:30 p.m. on 16 June. The Magway-bound truck driven by a man named Thant Zin Min, 38 years old from Letpanshay Village, Taungdwingyi Township collided with a motorcycle coming from an opposite direction after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
A woman from the motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene and two others including the truck driver were slightly injured in the incident. The local police filed a charge against the truck driver over reckless driving.—Naing Win (IPRD)
