One injured in train-trawlargi accident in Hmawbi

One man was injured when a train struck a trawlargi, according to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs.


The accident between the train and trawlargi took place at about 7:50 a.m. on 10 January near a level junction between Aut Warnet Chaung and Hmawbi railway stations near mileposts 25/19 and 25/20 in Hmawbi Township, Yangon Region. The unregistered trawlargi driven by a man identified as Saw Hla Myo, 30 years old with Naing Win Oo crashed into the train while they were crossing the level junction.


Naing Win Oo was critically hurt in the incident. An investigation into the case is ongoing by the local police.—MOHA
