One killed, one injured as six-wheel truck overturns in Saw Township

The driver was killed and his younger brother injured after a six-wheel truck overturned in Saw Township, Magway Region.  

    

The accident occurred between mileposts 50/3 and 50/4 on the Seikphyu-Saw Road near Thonelanpyae Village in Saw Township at about 5:15 p.m. on 8 January. The driver identified as Win Soe together with his younger brother Zaw Ko Ko from Thonelanpyae Village was driving the truck carrying bamboo from a location about four miles south of the village and flipped over after the man lost control of the vehicle.

The motorist was pronounced dead on the spot and his younger brother hurt in the incident. A group of local officials from the township police station, Fire Services Department, Myanmar Red Cross Society and a local social organization rushed to the scene of accident to assist the injured person in rescue work.        

The injured man who is not in critical condition was sent to a public hospital im Saw Township. A probe has been launched to investigate into the cause of accident by the local police.—Zaw Myo Thant (IPRD)
