A ceremony to award ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountants (ASEAN CPA) certificate by Myanmar Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) was held at Western Park Restaurant, Yangon yesterday morning.
At the ceremony MICPA Chairman Union Auditor-General U Maw Than said that under the Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Accountancy Services (MRAA), Myanmar professional accountants who are members of MICPA were being recognized as ASEAN CPA if they meet set requirements. With this recognition or certificate, Myanmar accountants will have an opportunity to work as account specialists in ASEAN countries. ASEAN CPA certificate holders are required to conduct account related works by strictly adhering to accountancy ethic, dignity and regulations and become trustworthy account experts for the country as well as foreign countries said the Union Auditor-General.
Afterwards, 113 Myanmar Certified Public Accountants were presented with ASEAN CPA certificates.
