A public cycling event was held in Twantay, Ayeyawady Region, early in the morning yesterday, under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Myanmar Cycling Federation(MCF). The event was also supported by the Twantay Cycling Club (TTCC).

More than 400 cyclists, including children under the age of 10 years, took part in the event, said an official with the MCF.

The event was held for the first time in Twantay and saw participation of children and adult cyclists from the Bicycle Network Myanmar (BNM) from Yangon, said an official with the bicycle network. “It was a good event for raising public awareness on the sport, as cycling is one of the more affordable and convenient sports in Myanmar,” he added.
