Over 98,000 acres of monsoon paddy to grow in Kyaukse, Singaing

With the cultivation mainly done through irrigation system in Kyaukse township in Mandalay region, a total of 56,207 acres of monsoon paddy will be grown in Kyaukse township whereas 41,972 acres of the same will be grown in Singaing township.

 

Previously, the local farmers from Kyaukse township did the farming supplying the water through Namkham, Nga Pyaung, Thindwe, Min Ye, Zeetaw and Htone Gyi dams. This year, a total of 562,017 acres of monsoon paddy will be grown with 7,731 acres having the water from Namkham dam, 27,006 acres with the water supplied by Nga Pyaung dam, 7,892 acres with the water from Thindwe dam, 9,692 acres with the water supplied from Min Ye dam, 881 acres with the water from Zeetaw dam and 3,005 acres with the water supplied from Htone Gyi dam.

 

Moreover, a total of 41,972 acres of monsoon paddy will be grown in Singaing with 3,105 acres of land will be put under cultivation with the water supplied from Thindwe dam, 6,357 acres with the water from Min Ye dam, 8,641 acres with the water from Min Ye dam, 13,570 acres with the water from Zeetaw dam and 10,299 acres with the water from Zeetaw dam, according to the District Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department.—Thet Maung (District-IPRD)
