Overheated air conditioner blamed for house fire in Mawlamyinegyun Twsp.

An overheated air conditioner was blamed for a KTV fire that broke out at about 8:55 am on 21 June from Padauk room of upper floor of Paradise KTV/Restaurant, the owner of U Than Tun, in the compound of bus Station in Kyunkyunkya Village in Mawlamyinegyun Township, Labutta District of Ayeyawady Region, inflicting the estimated loss of K 540000.

Firemen from the Township Fire Services Department led by Chairman of the Township Administration Body U Thiha Zaw and member rushed to the scene to fight the fire in collaboration with local people and auxiliary firefighters, and the blaze was completely extinguished at about 9:5 am.

Among six KTV rooms, four KTV rooms including Padauk Room were partially destroyed by fire. But no casualties are reported in the fire so far. The KTV manager U Hla Min was charged for his fire negligence, according to an official from the Township Fire Services Department.—Ye Ko Maung (IPRD)
