A paper reading session on translating from Myanmar into English will be held in the last week of August at the head office of the News and Periodicals Enterprise on Theinbyu Road in Yangon.
A second coordination meeting on conducting the event was held at the Printing and Publishing Department on Theinbyu Road in Yangon yesterday.
The participants of the meeting tentatively selected the titles of the papers and resource persons and confirmed that the event will be held for two days.
The committee will also invite papers on translating economic and legal affairs.
The meeting was attended by experts from the Myanmar Studies Group. The paper reading session is to be organized by the Ministry of Information.
The paper reading session is aimed at developing translation works in Myanmar, sharing the art of translation, promoting production of high-quality translated literary works and producing new generation of translators.—MNA (Translated by GNLM)
