Paralyzed man killed in Kyaikmaraw fire

As many as 15 houses have been set ablaze by the fire in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State on 22 December, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.

The fire that broke out at the house of a man named U Shwe (alia) U Zoe, 55 years old at about 2:20 p.m. is believed to have started from an electric shock, resulting in injuring one man from nearby house. The man who suffered paralyze for many years sustained minor burn wounds in the incident and has been sent to a public hospital for medical treatment.

The paralyzed man died from heart attacks at the hospital later. The local police filed a charge against the house owner over fire negligence.—MOHA
