Passengers struck on board after train hits cow in Mohnyin Township

Passengers were struck on board for a while after a passenger train hit a cow on a railway road between Mawhan and Nantseeaung railway stations in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State at about 2 p.m. on 25 February.

 

A passenger train bound for Mandalay from Myitkyina was operated by locomotive master U Win Khaing and reportedly crashed into the animal and the passengers were struck on board the train about 40 minutes. No passengers were injured in the incident and the dead cow was abandoned beside the railway track.

 

The passenger train then headed to Mandalay about 40 minutes later, said U Min Aung, one of the passengers.—Chunton
