The police seized three hand grenades, one pistol, two magazines and three bullets in a house raid in Shwehtet Village, Patheingyi Township in Mandalay Region on 4 September.
The police conducted the house raid based on information they received that two suspects namely Zarni Bala (alias) Kyaw Swar Win (aka) Lin Lin Htet, 47 years old and his wife Ma Thazin (aka) Sandar Lin who were being detained at the police station in Chanayethazan Township over fake national identity cards. The suspects confessed that they entrusted three hand grenades and one pistol to their colleague identified as Yarzar Bala, 46 years of age from Shwehtet Village, Patheingyi Township.
The trio are being questioned over possession of weapons by the local police, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.—MOHA
