Police in Japan have begun searching the home of the man who stabbed school children on Tuesday as they were waiting for a bus.
Investigators entered the home of Ryuichi Iwasaki in Kawasaki City near Tokyo on Wednesday morning to gather evidence that could indicate a motive.
Iwasaki stabbed 17 elementary school children and two adults on a road in Kawasaki, killing an 11-year-old girl and a Foreign Ministry official. Seventeen people were injured, some seriously.
Police say the 51-year-old suspect moved through the crowd of children in less than 20 seconds. They say the suspect then stabbed himself and later died.
