Police seize drugs, weapons in vehicle search in Tachilek

Police seized drugs and weapons in a vehicle search in Tachilek Township, Eastern Shan State on 17 June, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.
    

An anti-drug squad what it described as “law enforcement activities” stopped a Toyata Hilux near Kyahteenar Village, Tachilek Township at about 10:30 a.m. on 17 June. The police found a man in the car but two suspects managed to flee the scene. They also discovered an M-21 assault rifle, one pistol, 118 bullets, 2 million of stimulant tablets and 2.45 kilograms of heroin in the car.
    

The motorist identified as Kya Bo Shel, 23 has been taken action under the the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the local police station.
