Police seize drugs worth Ks. 32m in house raid in Wuntho

Local police forced seized drugs worth more than Ks. 30 million in a house raid in Wuntho Township, Sagaing Region on Saturday.

 

Based on an anonymous tipoff, an anti-drug squad led by Police Inspector Than Wai from a local police outpost together with eye witnesses raided the house of a suspected drug dealer in Namkham Village, Wuntho Township at about 5:30 p.m. on 5 January. They discovered heroin weighing 190 grams and 2,774 stimulant tablets in the house. The estimated value of the drugs is more than Ks. 32 million.

 

The suspicious drug smuggler identified as Zin Win Kyaw was detained for questioning over possession of the drugs by the local police station.—Lu Aung
