Police seize haul of drugs in Maungtaw

An anti-drug squad confiscated hauls of drugs in a house raid in Maungtaw Township in Rakhine State, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.


Based on an anonymous tip-off, a combined squad consisting of policemen and anti-drug team raided the house of a suspected drug dealer named Zaw Win in Myoma Kanyintan Village in Maungtaw Township at about 1 p.m. on 30 May. Members of the joint squad found the suspect’s father and his wife and discovered 7,090,700 stimulant tablets worth Ks. 14.2 billion in the house.


The house owner and wife of the suspected drug dealer are being questioned over possession of narcotics drugs by the local police.—
