Police seize pistol, bullets in vehicle search

Police reportedly confiscated one pistol and six bullets in a vehicle search at a checkpoint in Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.


An anti-drug squad consisting of policemen and local authorities conducted a vehicle search at a checkpoint near Kyaukchaw Village at about 9:45 p.m. on 2 June. They discovered one pistol and six bullets in a van heading to Mandalay from PyinOoLwin from two men.


The two men named Min Shein Htoo and Min Khant Aung aka Phoe Toke from Myoma Ward, Bhamouk Township, Sagaing Region are being questioned by the police over possession of weapon.
