Preservation efforts enhance public access to historical sites in Bago region

The Department of Archaeology and National Museum has confirmed that the Inwa gate, Theindi gate, and moats of the ancient Hanthawady city are under preservation for public observation in Bago Region.

 

Preservation efforts are managed jointly by the Bago Region Government and the Department of Archaeology and National Museum, funded by the Bago Region Government.

 

Additionally, it’s understood that the ancient royal buildings of Kanbawzathadi Palace and statues of King Anawrahta, King Bayintnaung, and King Alaungphaya, along with their palaces, are on display for public enjoyment and tours.

 

Similarly, it’s reported that the construction, large-scale maintenance, and repairs of the Myaynan Tier-roofed building in Kambawzathadi Palace are being undertaken by the Depart­ment of Buildings’ special task force-3 under the Ministry of Construction. — ASH/TRKM
