Kyaukse Township, located in Kyaukse District of Mandalay Region, has cultivated 30,098 acres of chickpeas and 1,483 acres of pigeon peas during the 2024-2025 Fiscal year.

The township primarily grows chickpeas and pigeon peas in the winter season. As of now, 30,098 acres of chickpeas have been planted, yielding an average of 18.50% per acre, which totals 21,349 bushels. Similarly, 1,483 acres of pigeon peas have been cultivated, with a yield of 17.50% per acre, amounting to a total of 2,953 bushels, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.

Officials from both the Township and District Agriculture Departments are providing essential support, including high-quality seeds suited to the region, guidance on effective planting methods, and agricultural knowledge.—Thet Maung
