A reception marking the 74^th National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt was held at the Melia Hotel in Yangon yester­day evening, attended by Union Minister for National Planning, In­vestment and Foreign Economic Relations U Aung Kyaw Hoe.

Egyptian Ambas­sador Mrs Aya Saad Mohamed Abdelkarim and officials welcomed the Union minister and guests. The ceremony began with the nation­al anthems of Myanmar and Egypt, followed by speeches from the am­bassador and the Un­ion minister, who con­veyed congratulatory remarks.

The Union minister and the ambassador then cut a commemo­rative cake, after which the Ambassador hosted a dinner for guests. The event was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Na­ing Thu, Yangon May­or U Myo Myint Aung, foreign ambassadors, chargés d’affaires, UN representatives and invitees. – MNA/MKKS
