A ceremony to provide financial aid and relief items to people whose homes were damaged by strong winds was held at the office of Department of Disaster Management in the Town of Thabaung, Pathein District, Ayeyawady Region this morning.
Officials from the township Department of Disaster Management under Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement handed over a total of K 227300 including K 200000 for building materials and K 27300 for rice for one week to 10 victims of powerful winds in three Villages in the Township.
Powerful winds hit Singone Village, Mayangone Village and Hnawgone Village in Thabaung Township on 2 and 4 August and damaged one house and flipped over the roofs of two houses.
