Remains of WW-II era Japanese soldiers unearthed in Nganzun, Mandalay

The remains of Japanese soldiers from the World War II era were discovered on 10 January at Kanthar Village in Nganzun Township of Mandalay Region.

A three-person team from Japan, including Mr.Atsunari Tokunaga, a researcher, and one interpreter, dug the site where the remains, which included arms and bones, were buried.

Some bones, five grenades, one gun attached with a bayonet, nine magazines with five bullets each, six magazines with four bullets each, 12 bullets, and one army helmet were also unearthed at the site.
