Rescue camp in Kyonedoe removed to safety place

Due to the continuous downpours, two rescue camps for flood victims that opened in Kyonedoe, Kawkareik, Kayin State were removed to safety place by departmental officials yesterday. 

 

As the downpours continuously hit Kawkareik and Kyonedoe, water entered into the houses in wards and villages. Accordingly, a total of 2735 people from 583 households were evacuated to nearby rescue camps and their relatives’ houses. Two rescue camps that were opened at BEPS-6 and warehouse of an Agricultural Trading were experiencing inundation of water. Therefore, 465 people from 103 households from the two camps were removed to a camp in BEHS (Kyonedoe).
