THE government is conducting rapid assessments of the damage in earthquake-affected areas and carrying out rescue and relief operations in a timely manner. Additionally, international humanitarian aid continues to arrive, including rescue teams, medical teams of doctors and nurses, humanitarian relief supplies, and medicines from various countries.
Yesterday afternoon, a search and rescue team, along with doctors, nurses, humanitarian aid supplies, and medicines from Laos and Kunming, China, arrived at the Tatmadaw airport in Nay Pyi Taw.
Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement welcomed the newly arrived international rescue teams, doctors, and nurses at the airport.
These teams will be deployed to different earthquake- hit areas to take search and rescue measures and provide medical treatment to the affected communities without delay. — MNA/KNN
