River bank retaining wall construction 75 percent completed in Butalin Tsp

Construction works of Chindwin River bank retaining wall, being carried out with the fund allocated by Sagaing region government, in Shwesaryay village and Inndaw river water pumping project in Butalin township were 75 percent completed, according to Sagaing region Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems Department. 

750 feet-long river bank retaining wall in Shwesaryay village is being constructed by Chan Ayeyeik Company with K 300 million allocated and 300 feet-long river bank retaining wall in Inndaw river water pumping project is being built by Mann Zeyar Company with K 100 million allocated.

 “ Chindwin river floods every year and river bank retaining walls are being implemented in order to prevent the collapse of river banks in villages,” said assistant engineer Daw Yin Min Tun.

Members of parliaments and responsible persons took inspection tour to the construction sites to ensure the construction works meets the set standards and the deadline.—Township IPRD
