Rural bridge under construction to promote socioeconomic status of locals in Bhamo Twsp

A rural bridge is being built in Natkhout Village in Bhamo Township, Kachin State with the fund allocated by the Border Areas and National Races Development Department under the Ministry of Border Affairs in the current fiscal year.


The reinforced concrete facility measuring 40 ft. in length and 14 ft. in width is under construction at a cost of 89 million kyats and the project has been about 50 percent finished. Local authorities consisting of Township Administrator U Soe Myint Hlaing, local lawmakers, and U Soe Naing, Deputy Director of the district development supervisory office made a field trip to the bridge construction site on January 18.


Once completed, 1,694 households from 18 villages will be able to use the new bridge in all seasons with greater ease and their socioeconomic status will improve to a certain extent.
