Rural road being built in Kangonelay village in Salin Township

With the aim of distributing local products to markets in time, the Department of Rural Development is undertaking the construction of a rural road in Kangonelay village in Salin Township, Minbu District, Magway Region.

The construction is being conducted by Shwe Group with capital of K 16 million allocated by the Department of Rural Development. The road connects Kangonelay village in Thayettaw village-tract in Salin Township and farmlands in Laetha village. Upon completion, local products from 800 acres of farmland will be distributed to markets with saving time and money, according to Township DRD.

The Department of Rural Development is implementing the construction of rural roads and bridges in order to enhance the development of rural areas and upgrade of living standards of rural people. The construction of two rural roads and six box culverts will be conducted in the township during six-month budget. Once completed, the products from over 1300 acres of farmland will be delivered to the markets in all seasons, according to an official from the Township DRD.
