A ceremony to inaugurate a rural road in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day was held on the morning of March 21 at No. 4 Mezalikone Ward, Kandaunt Village, Ingapu Township, Ayeyarwady Region. The road was constructed to save both time and money for local residents.

The ceremony began with an opening speech by U Myo Hlaing, Chairman of the District Administration Body. Following this, U Maung Tin Aung, Staff Officer of the Myanaung District Rural Development Department, explained the process of constructing the road, and a village elder expressed gratitude to the officials involved.

Afterward, the Chairman of the Myanaung District Administration Body, Police Lt-Col U Myint Kyaw (District Police Chief), the Staff Officer of the District Rural Development Department, the Chairman of the Township Administration Body, departmental officials, the Village Tract Administrator and the Village Head cut a ceremonial ribbon to open the road in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day.

The road, which measures 1 mile and 6.1 furlongs in length, 12 feet in width, and 9 inches in thickness, was constructed by the tender-winning construction company with funding of Ks. 101.2 million allocated by the regional government, with technical support from the staff of the District/Township Rural Development Department.— Maung Khaing
