SAC Information Team leader clearly unveils no plan to recruit women for military service now

Leader of Information Team of the State Administration Council Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun clearly disclosed that, at present, women will not be recruited for military service.

 

He then made an expla­nation about People’s Military Service Law, saying that Chair­man of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Sen­ior General Min Aung Hlaing clarified matters related to the aforesaid law in meeting with officials from political parties on 13 February, officials of YMBA on 17 February and Myanmar diplomats on 14 February.

The Senior General reiter­ated that a suitable amount of strength will be recruited for the military services in the set age limit not to be a burden for the State and the people. People need to take care of instigations based on unfounded information and criticisms.

 

In meeting with ambassa­dors, the Senior General dis­closed measures of the Reserve Forces Law for recruiting war veterans. In this regard, only suitable war veterans will be assigned for military service. Moreover, the Senior General stressed the need to have politi­cal, economic and military might for building a country and its per­petuity. To do so, the economic might plays a key role for pos­sessing the aforesaid might.

 

The Information Team lead­er said that the government will properly apply the political, economic and military might. In this regard, malicious media and some EAOs spread misin­formation to cause instability of economic life and fear of the people.

 

He continued that according to the law, the Tatmadaw will recruit some 60,000 people from the eligible persons for military service. In this regard, they must serve the military service in turns. — GNLM/TTA
