SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife pay respect to Independence Mawgun Award winners who will attend 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day Parade

Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe paid respect to two Independence Mawgun Award second-class winners and two Independence Mawgun Award third-class winners, totalling four who will attend the 79th An­niversary of Armed Forces Day parade by hosting a tea party at the hall of Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

The Vice-Senior General and wife, the Chief of the Gen­eral Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and wife, and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief asked about health conditions of those award winners in individuals and presented fortified edible bird’s nests and cash assis­tance.

 

The Vice-Senior General and his wife joined the tea party together with the Independence Mawgun award recipients.

 

On the occasion, Independ­ence Mawgun Award third-class-winner U Maung Maung, aged 101; Independence Maw­gun Award second-class winner U Kyaw Sein, 100; Independence Mawgun Award third-class win­ner U Aye Thein, 96; and Inde­pendence Mawgun Award sec­ond-class winner U Ba Chaw, 96, expressed their good health conditions and recounted their experiences in fighting against Fascist Japan with patriotic and national spirits. — MNA/TTA
