Sawn teak woods seized in Hlegu Tsp

Sawn teak woods hidden in a motor car were seized near a toll gate in Hlegu township, Yangon North District at 00:30 am today.
 

The illegal sawn teak woods were seized when forest staff led by U Tin Tun, the head of Hlegu Township Forest Department ordered a suspicious car to stop for investigation. The driver of the car refused to stop and drove it away. With the cooperation of security police at the toll gate, the car was forced to stop at the toll gate but the driver run away leaving the car. A total of 38 sawn teak woods , weighing 1.37 tons, were found inside the car. 


The authorities are trying to bring the man responsible for carrying illegal teak woods to court.—Lu Aung (Katha)
