School supplies donated marking 74th anniversary of China-Myanmar ties

A ceremony of donating educa­tional materials was held at No 14 Basic Education High School, Hlinethaya (East) Township, In­sein District, Yangon Region, yesterday to mark the 74th an­niversary of the establishment of China-Myanmar diplomatic relations.

 

During the ceremony, Grade-3 students performed with the songs named Harvest Season. Then Mr Chen Hai, Chi­nese Ambassador to Myanmar, gave a speech.

 

U Soe Thein, Chief Minister of the Yangon Region govern­ment, in his speech, recognized China for its efforts to improve the education sector, which is one of the most critical sectors of the country.

 

In commemoration of the 74th anniversary of the estab­lishment of diplomatic relations, he added that the relations be­tween the people of the two countries should be long-lasting and robust.

 

Next, Mr Chen Hai, Chi­nese Ambassador to Myanmar, and U Soe Thein, Chief Minister of the Yangon Region govern­ment, presented the donated items, and China Rural Devel­opment Foundation Myanmar Country Director Ms Lin Yuan handed over food packages.

 

Afterwards, the Yangon Region chief minister present­ed a certificate of appreciation to the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar.

 

Grade-6 student Ma Juu Theint Nadi expressed her gratitude, and the Yangon Re­gion chief minister presented the awards to the students who performed the dance and a group photo was taken. Next, officials looked round students’ paintings to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the establish­ment of China-Myanmar diplo­matic relations. — MNA/KZL
