Second Amyotha Hluttaw’s 13th regular session holds 18th-day meeting

The 18th-day meeting of Second Amyotha Hluttaw’s 13th-regular session was held at the Amyotha Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning where questions raised by ten Hluttaw representatives were answered by Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population U Thein Swe, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Hla Kyaw and Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Kyaw Myo. The Hluttaw also discussed National Records and Archives Bill and Amyotha Hluttaw Public Complaints Committee report 1/2019 was read.

 


Q&A Session

 


In the question and answer session, questions raised by U Kyaw Thaung of Sagaing Region constituency 1 on a plan made for pensioners of various departments to enjoy social security health care services; U Kyaw Ni Naing of Shan State constituency 11 on a plan to upgrade Yan Lone Kyain border gate and Chinshwehaw border gates to lift entries and exits numbers in Shan State Kokang Self-Administered Zone; U Pu Gun Kam Lian of Chin State constituency 5 on a plan to review a statement in 2014 Census showing 53 ethnic groups residing in Chin State and U Soe Thein of Kayah State constituency 9 on the government’s plan to reduce youth going abroad for employment and instead to create job opportunities locally were answered by Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population U Thein Swe.

 

In the same way, questions raised by Daw Htu May of Rakhine State constituency 11 on a plan to open district wise state agricultural institutes in Rakhine State with government fund or with low interest foreign loans; U Khin Myo Win of the Taninthayi Region constituency 12 on a plan to protect and conserve fish resources of Myanmar water by setting fishing permit time limit on fishing vessels and not extending the permit upon expiry of the time limit; U Hla Myint (a) U Hla Myint Than of Mon State constituency 11 on a farm land matter in Bago Region Bago District Waw Township and U Pe Tin of Mon State constituency 6 on effectively preventing illegal fishing works being conducted all over the country were answered by Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Hla Kyaw.

 

Questions raised by U Myo Win of Mon State constituency 8 on a plan to open a permanent sub-department to renew driving license in Mon State Ye Township and Dr Kyaw Ngwe of Magway constituency 10 on a plan to arrange a ferry service across Chindwin River with a landing craft between Yesagyo Township and villages in Myaung Township were answered by Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Kyaw Myo.

 

Hluttaw discuss National Records and Archives Bill

 


Following the question and answer session Daw Ei Ei Pyone of Ayeyawady Region constituency 8, Dr Pyae Phyo of Ayeyawady Region constituency 7, U Kyaw Thaung of Sagaing Region constituency 1 and U Soe Thein (a) U Maung Soe of Taninthayi Region constituency 10 discussed the National Records and Archives Bill.

Next, Amyotha Hluttaw Public Complaints Committee Chairman U Hla Myint (a) U Hla Myint Than read and submitted Amyotha Hluttaw Public Complaints Committee report 1/2019 to the Hluttaw.

 

Afterwards, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than announced for Hluttaw representatives who want to discuss the report to register their names.
