Second Amyotha Hluttaw’s 14th regular session holds third-day meeting

The second Amyotha Hluttaw’s 14th regular session held its third-day meeting at the Amyotha Hluttaw meeting hall yesterday morning.

At the meeting, Tatmadaw Amyotha Hluttaw representatives sworn in and signed the oath of office in the presence of Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than.


QNA session


In the question and answer session that follows questions raised by Hluttaw representatives were answered by Deputy Minister for Education U Win Maw Tun and Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation Dr Ye Myint Swe.


Questions raised by U Kyaw Than of Rakhine State constituency 10 on plan to construct a new 2-storey building for Mipyin Village Basic Education High School in Rakhine State Kyaukpyu Township; U Naing Thiha of Mon State constituency 7 on plan to upgrade Thaungpyin Village Basic Education High School (branch) in Mon State Ye Township; and U Kyaw Toke of Mandalay Region constituency 7 on teachers arrangement to teach arts, music and physical training subjects included in the new basic education curriculum was answered by Deputy Minister for Education U Win Maw Tun.


Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation Dr Ye Myint Swe on the other hand responded to questions raised by U Han Win Thein of Taninthayi Region constituency 4 on whether measuring and designating of mine sites were in accordance to Myanmar Gemstone Law and U Saw Moe Myint (a) Samuel of Kayin State constituency 1 on a plan to conduct review on remaining mine resources of Heinda Mine in Taninthayi Region.


Hluttaw discusses Myanmar Geoscience Council Bill


After the QNA session, Myanmar Geoscience Council Bill was discussed by U Saw Moe Myint (a) Samuel of Kayin State constituency 1, Dr Khun Win Thaung of Kachin State constituency 11, U Maung Maung Ohn of Ayeyawady Region constituency 5 and U Soe Thein (a) U Maung Soe of Taninthayi Region constituency 10.


Motion urges Union Government to conduct development works based on forest and trees


Next, U Sa Khin Zaw Lin of Ayeyawady Region constituency 2 tabled and explained a motion urging the Union Government to conduct development works based on forest and trees. The motion was supported by U Khin Maung Win of Sagaing Region constituency 7.


As there was no objection from the Hluttaw toward discussion the motion, the Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker announced the Hluttaw agreeing to discuss the motion and announced further for Hluttaw representatives who want to discuss the motion to register their names.
