Second Media and Information Literacy course conducted for IPRD officials

Ministry of Information launched a capacity-building training course for the officials of Information and Public Relations Department in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.


The course titled ‘Media and Information Literacy’ is the second of its kind after the first batch completed in July.


Deputy Minister for Information U Aung Hla Tun said in his opening remark on the course that the subject of public relations is concerned with the three main pillars of legislation, administration and judiciary, while the information needs to be exchanged between these estates and the public.


He also remarked most people lack media and information literacy although they are browsing mobile phones for information in digital era. The deputy minister also urged the officials to share knowledge from this course to other staff and the public.
The course will offer media knowledge about news writing, press release, collecting information, storing, sharing, analyzing and evaluating media, as well as electoral literacy to 37 officials from the state and regional offices of IPRD.—MNA
