Self-reliant school opens in Hlegu Township

A ceremony to open a basic education primary school that was built on a self-reliant basis took place in Ngachawkwin Village, Hlegu Township in Yangon Region on 4 June.

At first, the township education officer and concerned officials inaugurated the new school facility. Next, the patron of the school construction committee made an opening speech and the township education officer and an official from the Information and Public Relations Department clarified the purpose of opening the school. Member of the school construction committee explained emergence of the school and a village elder and the village administrator spoke words of thanks.

The new school consists of five rooms and was built on 2.50 acres of land plot at a cost of Ks. 9.7 million. The school has admitted 88 students in this academic year and is being administered by five teachers.—Naing Lin
