The local police arrested seven men for allegedly betting on a cockfight in Myinmu Township, Sagaing Region on 11 August.
Based on anonymous tipoff, the police force led by Police Major Thein Lin together with eye witnesses went to a farm near a pond where a cockfight took place in Kanthar Village, Myinmu Township. They captured seven men includings Zaw Win, in connection with betting on a cockfight. Other men who were involved in the cockfight attempted to flee the scene and attack the policemen when the police arrived.
The police also seized three cocks, 35 different types of motorcycles, and Ks. 26,650 at the scene. The cockfight bettor has been charged under the Myanmar Gambling Law by the local police station.—Ko Ko Naing
