Shooting in NBA victory parade in Toronto injures 2

Police in Canada say two people have been shot as a huge crowd gathered in Toronto to celebrate the NBA champions Toronto Raptors.

The incident occurred during the Raptors' victory parade on Monday afternoon in Canada's largest city. Crowds were celebrating the non-US pro basketball team's first NBA championship.

Police say they detained two suspects. Two victims, a man and a woman, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Local media say about 1.5 million fans attended the celebrations. Footage at the scene of the shooting shows people running and screaming in panic shortly after gunshots were fired.
