Shwedaung, July 13

In support of the slogan, “Let’s Encourage Production for the National Golden Fruit,” Shwedaung Township in Bago Region plans to cultivate 58,163 acres of rain-fed paddy in the 2026 fiscal year to strengthen local food security and promote rice production.

Under the guidance of the Township Management and Administration Committee and the Township Agriculture and Livestock Supervision Committee, farmers will grow Yesin Pawsan-1, Yesin Pawsan-2, Hmawbi-2, and Yadanar Toe paddy varieties using improved cultivation methods, including drum seeders and rice planters.

The Township Agriculture Department will support farmers by supplying quality seeds, demonstrating modern planting techniques, promoting natural fertilizer production, providing affordable agricultural inputs, conducting pest management training, and organizing agricultural training courses and awareness talks.— Ko Ko Min (IPRD)
