Six Myanmar migrant workers were repatriated by Thai authorities at Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge-2 in Tachilek yesterday morning.
Migrant workers were sent back due to the expiry of their border passes and illegal stay in Thailand without proper documents. The migrant workers were helped to return to their homes safely by the Township General Administration Department, the Township Labor, Immigration and Population Department, Anti-trafficking Police Force and members of Caring and Negotiating Committee for Myanmar Citizens in Mai Sai (CNCMC).
A total of 13 illegal migrant workers were handed over to Myanmar by Thai authorities from 1 to 4 January in 2019.
