Some Haka residents fined for not wearing facemasks

Some residents in Haka, the capital city of Chin State were reportedly fined for not wearing facemasks during joint surprise checks in recent weeks.
    

The surprise checks were conducted by members of the township-level COVID-19 control and emergency response committee, departmental staff, volunteers from local philanthropic organizations in an attempt to curb the spread of coronavirus in the township. The local officials performed surprise checks at separate locations and disseminated knowledge about the risks of coronavirus.
    

Some residents were fined for buying facemasks for not wearing facemasks and violating social distancing rules.
