A ceremony to present cash assistance to those affected by strong winds was held at auditorium of the General Administration Department in Thaton, Mon State this morning.
On the occasion, Lawmaker for Mon State parliament Daw Khaing Khaing Lae elaborated on rescue works for the storm victims and Mon State Minister for Security and Border Affairs Col Nay Htut Oo briefed about natural disasters occurred in Mon State and encouraged the storm victims.
Next, Mon State Minister for Social Affairs Dr. Htein Lin, Mon State Minister for Municipality and Construction U Min Kyaw Lwin and Mon State Minister for PaO Ethnic Affairs Daw San Wint Khaing explained matters relating to the cash assistance.
Afterwards, the Mon State minister for social affairs and concerned officials presented Ks. 5 million provided by the local government to storm victims from 127 households through Deputy Commissioner U Myo Min Tun.
Also present on the occasion were the MPs, members of the district/township disaster management committees, departmental staff and locals.—Thet Oo (Thaton)
