An event to present cash and kind to storm victims was held at the office of General Administration Department in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State yesterday.
First, an official from the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement clarified provisions to be supplied by the department for disaster victims. 11 houses were badly damaged and one person was reported death after the gusty winds swept through some villages in the township recently.
On the occasion, officials from the DDM furnished the storm victims with cash to buy relief items such as rice and construction materials.—Khin Myo Win (IPRD)
