THE Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Tachileik District, Shan State (East), conducted field inspections yesterday on the completion of the installation of public solar-powered street lights in 47 villages across Tachileik Township.
Tachileik Township Department of Rural Development Head Daw Lae Lae Thin and officials from the Township Rural Development Department reviewed the fully completed installation of solar panels, lighting units, and related accessories for village street lighting systems covering all 47 villages. She met village lighting committees, village development committees, and residents, discussing the importance of ensuring long-term sustainability of the rural electrification projects and coordinating necessary follow-up matters based on local needs.
Alongside the implementation of rural infrastructure projects such as rural road construction, water supply schemes, and income-generation activities under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project revolving fund, a total of 235 sets of solar street lights have been installed in 47 villages. These developments will contribute to improvements in education, health, social, and economic conditions in rural areas, helping to narrow the development gap between urban and rural communities. — Cho Than Nyunt (Rural)
