A combined departmental task force is systemati­cally demolishing illegal buildings and destroying equipment used for on­line scam and gambling operations in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park are­as of Myawady Township, Kayin State. Four more illegal three-storey res­idential buildings were demolished yesterday.

A total of 77 buildings in the Shwe Kokko area used for online fraud and gambling have been tar­geted for demolition, com­prising 57 structures to be torn down using heavy machinery and 20 struc­tures to be demolished by controlled explosions.

Following yester­day’s systematic dem­olition of four three-sto­rey residential buildings using heavy machinery, a total of 56 illegal build­ings have now been de­molished. Authorities will continue the systematic demolition of the remain­ing 21 illegal buildings. — MNA/KZL
