Tatmadaw families make donations at Sitagu Int’l Buddhist Academy

Families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) made cash donation and Sitagu water donation for Buddhist academies throughout Myanmar with a ceremony at the Sitagu International Buddhist Academy in North Dagon Myothit Township, Yangon Region, yesterday morning.

 

The ceremony was graced by the Most Venerable Sitagu Sayadaw Dr Ashin Nyanissara, other sayadaws and monks.

 

Firstly, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and other attendees received the five precepts from Sitagu Sayadaw. The Senior General then explained the purpose of the donations.

 

Next, the Senior General and wife handed over K50 million for navakamma donation and K24.6 million for Sitagu water donation from the families of the Tatmadaw to Sitagu Sayadaw, who conferred a certificate of honour in return.

 

Following this, Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief of Navy, General Maung Maung Kyaw, Commander-in-Chief of Air, and other attendees gifted offertories to the Sitagu Sayadaw, other sayadaws and monks present and received Dhamma gifts in return.

 

Afterwards, the Senior General and attendees listened to Sitagu Sayadaw’s sermon on anumodana and poured libation for the multiple donations, according to news released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
